At Environmental Services, our goal is to ensure environmentally safe air and water for the Toledo Metropolitan Area.  Our division takes pride in serving as an environmental consultant for the city’s other departments and divisions.  We also perform, coordinate, and oversee Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for city owned parcels and city Brownfield redevelopment projects.  We promote a better understanding and awareness of the challenges that exist in air and water pollution in Toledo through numerous community outreach programs.  At Environmental Services, we fight for a high quality of life for all citizens through balanced, responsible environmental protection. Our division is committed to the role of environmental leadership in all aspects of our city, but our primary objective is to keep the citizens of the Toledo Metropolitan Area safe from any potential environmental threats.

Clean Your Streams Day is the largest Coastweeks clean-up event in the State of Ohio.  In 2009, 635 people picked up more than 18,000 pounds of garbage from the banks of the Ottawa River, Swan Crek and Maumee River, Bay and tributaries.  Join Partners for Clean Streams, the City of Toledo and other community partners working to improve water quality for Clean Your Streams 14 on Saturday, September 11, 2010.
