Bell Administration releases proposed 2012 operating budget

Mayor Michael P. Bell today released the 2012 Operating Budget at a press conference that included his administration’s finance staff, Safety Director, Police and Fire Chiefs and other directors. The Mayor made clear that 2012 again poses fiscal challenges for the city and will require a change in mindset and acceptance of reality to address the lingering structural deficit.

City of Toledo tax forms available online, returns due April 18

Mayor Michael P. Bell today released the 2011 Operating Budget at a press conference that included his administration’s finance staff, Safety Director, Police and Fire Chiefs and other directors. The Mayor made clear that 2011 again poses fiscal challenges for the city, noting an environment of increased expenditures and declining resources, but also emphasized that the budget includes no new or increased general fund taxes or fees.

Revenues projected to decrease in 2011, income tax collections beginning to rebound

City of Toledo Director of Finance, Patrick McLean, today announced the city’s projections for major revenue sources in the 2011 budget cycle. The city anticipates a 2.6% increase in income tax collections although property and estate taxes along with state revenue sharing will more than offset those gains leaving the city with nearly $1.6 million less in revenue for 2011 than 2010.
