Placing your recycling cart out for collection
The City of Toledo provides a recycling cart to improve the quality of your collection service by keeping materials and odors in your cart and critters out. Here are some tips for ensuring your recycling is collected as scheduled:
- Only recyclable materials should be placed in the blue recycling bin.
- Do not overfill the container. Objects should not protrude beyond the top of the container and the lid should close securely.
- Place the container a foot from the curb or alley line.
- Place the container three feet from parked vehicles and other obstructions like mailboxes.
- Avoid placing containers under trees, low wires or basketball hoops to allow room for the arm to lift the cart.
- Place your cart out for collection by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.
