The street sweeping program for the 2012 season is set to start April 2nd and run through the end of September.  

The street sweeping program is designed to improve the overall cleanliness and aesthetic appearance of the public rights-of-way on improved streets with curbs within the City of Toledo

The street sweeping operation consists of mechanically removing small debris and leaves from the street.  Areas of the City of Toledo that have permanently posted street sweeping signs are scheduled to be swept twice a month April 1st through September 30th.  In general all other streets are scheduled for sweeping once every three to four weeks. Normally the work day following refuse pick-up is when the scheduled sweep will occur.

Effectiveness of the street sweeping program can be hindered due to unsuitable weather conditions, vehicles parked on the street, grass clippings and large debris, including but not limited to tree limbs placed in the street.
