The Civil Service Commission of the City of Toledo is not currently accepting applications for Utility Worker positions. We do, however, maintain an interest card database and will notify everyone in our database the next time we open up the filing period for Utility Worker.
The minimum requirements for Utility Worker, which is an entry-level labor position, are:
- Eighth (8th) grade reading level supplemented by experience or training in the use of basic hand tools and
- One (1) year of work experience which demonstrates the ability to follow directions and to work effectively with others.
ADDITIONAL OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to properly lift objects weighing up to approximately ninety (90) lbs. Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver's license.
Position assignment may require the possession of a valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the assignment.
Position assignment may require the ability to wear respirators and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
