ATTENTION CITY OF TOLEDO LICENSED HOME IMPROVEMENT & REMODELING CONTRACTORS

At its January meeting, the City of Toledo's Board of Control for Home Improvement and Remodeling Contractors discussed implementation of the continuing education requirement for license renewals mandated in the Toledo Municipal Code 1313.04. The Board will waive the 90-day license suspension provision embodied in the original legislation. The legislation says that proof of continuing education is required by Jan. 1, 2010 or a license is suspended for 90 days and revoked thereafter. This action on the part of the Board of Control, allow contractors renewing their licenses to have until March 31st to secure and show evidence of their continuing education credits. During that time, they may still operate their business. However, late fees will be assessed for late license renewals. After March 31st, their license will be revoked and the contractor will have to go through the licensing and testing procedure again.
